W3ME Network Directory Disclosure
Document version: 1.1 · Version date: 28 October 2026
The W3ME network directory
The directory is how operators on the network find each other and offer each other work.
Whether you are listed by default depends on what kind of business you are.
Your business
Directory listing
A sole trader
Off. You are not listed unless you switch it on.
Any other business: company, partnership, trust
On. You are listed from the day your workspace is created.
Either way it is the same control, and it is one tap, in Settings → Network, at any time, in either direction.
Why sole traders are treated differently. For a company, a business name is just a business name. For a one-person operation it is often the person’s own name, and the service area is often the suburb they live in. Publishing those together is closer to publishing personal details than trading details, so we do not do it unless the operator chooses to.
How we know which you are. Where we can, we read your entity type from the Australian Business Register when you sign up. Where we cannot, because the register is unavailable to us, or its answer is not clear, we ask you one question at signup. You can change the answer later, and if we have it wrong, tell us and we will fix it.
What other operators see
The directory may show these, and only these:
Field
What it is
Your business name
The trading name you gave us
Your vehicle types
The kinds of vehicles you run: for example tautliner, tray, refrigerated
Your service suburbs and service area
The general areas you work in
The directory currently shows your business name only. Vehicle types and service area are permitted by this disclosure but are not yet published. We will tell you before we begin publishing them.
What other operators never see
None of the following appear in the directory:
Your street address: not your office, not your yard, not your home.
Your depot location. There is no map pin showing where you are based.
Your phone number.
Your email address.
Your customers, your rates, your prices, your margins, or who you trade with.
Your drivers, your staff, or any of their details.
Your service area is shown as an area, never as a pin. We show the suburbs or region you work in. We do not show a point on a map, and we do not show a point that could be read as where you are based.
What becomes available when a job connects you
Only when a job connects the two of you, and it is less than people expect. If you accept work from another operator, or they accept work from you, each of you receives the details needed to run that job: the business name at each site, the addresses, the freight, the times and windows, and any special instructions.
Site contact details do not cross. The names, phone numbers and email addresses of the people at each pickup and delivery site stay with the operator who sent the job out. If the performing operator needs something at a site, it goes back through the sending operator, in the platform. That is a design choice, and the software enforces it: the channel that carries job detail across refuses to carry a contact field at all.
So a network trade does not hand anyone a contact list, which is the point. Where you do end up holding the other operator’s own details, they are for that job: using them for marketing, prospecting or a contact list breaches the acceptable use clause of the Platform Terms of Service.
Changing your listing
One tap, immediate, at any time, in either direction.
Go to Settings → Network and switch your directory listing on or off. It takes effect immediately: there is no save step and no waiting period.
If you are listed and switch it off, other operators stop seeing you.
If you are a sole trader and switch it on, you appear in the directory and other operators can offer you work.
Being listed, or not, does not change whether you are in the network. You can be offered work and can send work out either way. The listing controls only whether other operators can browse you.
This matters most for sole traders, so it is worth saying twice. Your listing being off by default costs you nothing in work. The directory is the human browsing surface. The matching that puts work in front of you does not read it: you are found by what you can carry and where you run, not by whether someone can look you up. A sole trader with the listing off is fully active on the network: still receiving offers, still receiving suggestions, still able to send work out.
The other network controls
Your directory listing is one of three separate controls in Settings → Network:
Control
Effect
Default
Directory listing
Whether other operators can browse you
On, except off for sole traders
Receive suggestions
Whether we suggest work to you
On
Network participation
Whether you are in the network at all
On
Turning off network participation is subject to clause 10 of the Network Trading Terms: a workspace that pays no platform fee may pause the network one day at a time, without limit on the number of times, and switching it off permanently is available only to a workspace that pays a platform fee.
Correcting or removing your listing
Business name wrong? Email [email protected] and we will change it. Your business name is the one field the directory publishes, so we change it for you rather than leaving it editable by anyone with a login.
Want out? Turn the listing off, as above.
Recorded as the wrong kind of business? Tell us and we will correct it. If you are a sole trader who has been listed by mistake, we will remove the listing immediately.
Closed your account? Your listing goes with your workspace.
Something still visible that should not be? Email [email protected].
Privacy
The directory concerns your business. Where you are a sole trader, that can also be information about you personally, which is why the default is off for that class. Your rights to access and correct personal information we hold, and to complain about how we handle it, are set out in the W3ME Privacy Policy and the privacy law identified in your regional Schedule.
